    About the Director

    Tian Qinxin

    Tian Qinxin is a director for the National Theatre of China, and she is considered one of the most talented and influential directors in Asia. A distinctive presence in contemporary Chinese theater, her work has also left a significant impact on the global theater scene.

    Her notable works include stage plays The Field of Life and Death, Hurricane, The Orphan of Zhao, Red Rose and White Rose, Ming Dynasty, and The Yellow Storm; musical theater production The Riddler; musical Song of Light and Shadow (2010); Kun opera Peach Blossom Fan–1699; and television series Life and Death Bridge.

    Her honors and awards include the Golden Award of the Performance for the China Arts Festival, National Stage Art Award, Playwright Award of Wenhua Award, Director Award of Wenhua Award, Best Director of Chinese Drama Golden Lion Award, Cao Yu Theatre Literature Award, and Excellent Theatre Worker of Chinese Drama Centennial by Chinese Ministry of Culture (2007). She is also a Chinese Drama Centennial Hall of Famer.
