2014 World Tour
2014 saw two commissioned World Premieres as well as tours across eleven territories on five continents!
From 2009-2016, Ping Pong developed and produced all of TAO's international touring and projects, including all tour and production management, as well as for numerous domestic projects and performances. Ping Pong secured all commissioning support from China and abroad for the co-commissioned works 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.
Tao Ye's dance works belong to the 21st Century. They amaze and provoke deeper reflection. In my dreams I can create works like these, yet at the same time I know that I am not capable.
Mr. Tao has an ability to draw you inside his austere, meditative world; if you go willingly, you realize that the body is a sacred place. In a way, Mr. Tao has reinvented the solo within a visceral framework of repetition and time. His insistence is palpable, and, through that, we grasp the freedom in flesh.
