Australia-China Performing Arts Exchange

Performing Lines (Australia) and Ping Pong Productions (China) have formed a partnership to broaden and deepen cultural exchange and understanding between our two countries – with a specific focus on next generation audiences, moving beyond metropolitan centres to reach deeply into both regional Australia and China.

With over 45 years of experience in delivering performing arts tours nationally and internationally between us, our two highly regarded companies are ideally placed to deliver this an initiative.

We plan a minimum of eight national tours of high quality contemporary performance - four in each country – over four years (2018 – 2021), alongside a matched residency program with partners Bundanon Trust and China Residencies.

Following a highly successful pilot tour in 2016, we have secured an initial investment of AUD$200,000 from the Australia Federal government to deliver year one, and have high level positive conversations in train within China.

The first tour is from Australia to China – we’re delighted to present Tamara Saulwick and Peter Knight’s Alter in China in April 2018.
